当上海街头的梧桐树皮剥落成碎片，当镜面映出支离的倒影，年轻艺术家冯徕用一件家具作品，向世界抛出一个关于时间与自我的永恒之问。

2025米兰设计周，巴博罗将携手这位跨学科的艺术家，以全新作品叩击国际舞台，开启一场东西方文化的深度对话。 

When the bark of plane trees on the streets of Shanghai peeled off into pieces, and when the mirror reflected fragmented reflections, Feng Lai, a young artist, used a piece of furniture to throw a question about time and self to the world. 

At the 2025 Milan Design Week, PABLO NOW will collaborate with Feng Lai to present new works on the international stage, initiating a deep dialogue between Eastern and Western cultures. 

创作溯源：梧桐树皮的哲学隐喻
The Philosophical Metaphor of plane tree bark

作品灵感源于上海街头的一则“小广告”——它被印在梧桐树皮上，随着树皮自然剥落，文字逐渐破碎、消散，最终仅存斑驳的痕迹。冯徕从中捕捉到生命的无常与存在的诗意——我们的存在如树皮上的广告，终将褪色，但碎片中是否藏有永恒的答案？

Inspired by a "small advertisement" on the streets of Shanghai, the work was printed on the bark of plane tree. As the bark naturally peeled off, the words gradually broke and dissipated, and finally only mottled traces remained. Feng Lai captured the impermanence of life and the poetic essence of existence from it - our existence is like an advertisement on tree bark, which will eventually fade, but is there an eternal answer hidden in the fragments？

他将梧桐树皮的纹理转化为设计语言——仿树皮剥落的镜面碎片，让观众在残缺的倒影中凝视“蜕变的自我”； 激光切割的树皮肌理层层堆叠，隐喻时间非线性的流动； 用镜面组成的英文提问“Will I shed away?”，则直击东西方观众对生命本质的共情。 

He transformed the texture of tree bark into design language - imitating the specular fragments of peeled bark, so that the audience could gaze at the "transformed self" in the incomplete reflection; The laser cut bark texture is stacked layer by layer, symbolizing the non-linear flow of time; The English question "Will I shed away?" composed of mirrors directly strikes at the empathy of Eastern and Western audiences towards the essence of life. 

跨界碰撞：当艺术遇见家居
When art meets Furniture

作为艺术家首次涉足家具领域，冯徕坦言：“跨界是打破边界的冒险。”巴博罗以 “文化为核，创新为刃”的基因，为这场冒险保驾护航—— 梧桐树皮的精细肌理需激光切割实现，双方历经数十次实验，终让“破碎感”精准呈现。

As an artist's first foray into the field of furniture, Feng Lai said frankly: "Crossingthe border is an adventure to break the border." Pablo took the gene of "culture asthe core, innovation as the blade" to escort this adventure - the fine texture of tree bark needs laser cutting. They have gone through dozens of experiments, and finally made the "sense of fragmentation" present accurately.

上海街头的梧桐树——这些源自欧洲的古老树种，百年前远渡重洋扎根于此，如今却成了冯徕创作的灵感之源。

在顺德的工坊中，梧桐树皮的肌理被镌刻成皮革的裂痕，层叠的柜体裹挟着东方哲思的隐喻；而当这件作品漂洋过海，登上米兰设计周的展台时，它已不再只是一件家具，而是一场跨越时空的文化叙事。

巴博罗将上海梧桐的曲折身世、顺德匠造的细腻工艺与西方设计的先锋语言编织成网——如同龙舟载着岭南文化的魂魄驶向更辽阔的海洋，让东方对“时间与自我”的追问，与西方现代性的凝视，在米兰的聚光灯下悄然共鸣。

Plane trees on the streets of Shanghai - these ancient trees from Europe, which took root here a hundred years ago, have become the source of inspiration for Feng Lai's creation. 

In the workshops in Shunde, the texture of tree bark is carved into leather cracks, and the cascading cabinets contain the metapho of oriental philosophy; And when this work crossed the ocean and appeared on the Milan Design Week booth, it was no longer just a piece of furniture, but a cultural narrative that transcends time and space. 

Pablo weaves the twists and turns of plane trees in Shanghai, the exquisite craftsmanship made in Shunde, and the pioneering language of western design into a web - just like a Dragon Boat carrying the soulof Lingnan culture to a broader ocean, so that the East's quest for "time and self", and the gaze of Western modernity, resonate quietly under the spotlightof Milan.

冯徕与巴博罗未来或将以更多跨界形式探索 “非线性的时间表达”——从面料、家具到空间，用设计撕碎常规，让每一次“剥落”都成为新生的起点。

Feng Lai and Pablo may explore "non-linear time expression" in more cross-border forms in the future - from fabrics, furniture to space, using design to tear apart conventions, making every "peeling" a new starting point.

这件作品不仅是家具，更是一场沉浸式的哲学体验。冯徕期待西方观众透过作品思考：树皮脱落是终结还是新生？镜中碎片是“过去的我”还是“未来的我”？当上海梧桐重返欧洲，东西方如何共写复杂性的美？而这些问题的答案，我们会在米兰设计周的现场，为你一一揭开，敬请期待！ 

This piece of work is not only furniture, but also an immersive philosophical experience. Feng Lai expects Western audiences to think through the work: Is bark shedding the end or a new beginning? Is the fragment in the mirror the 'past me' or the 'future me'? When plane trees returned to Europe, how could the East and the West jointly write the beauty of complexity? And the answers to these questions will be revealed one by one at Milan Design Week. Stay tuned!
