在洛杉矶圣莫尼卡山脉的褶皱中，一幢白色的建筑静静矗立。加州的炽烈阳光，将影子投进波光粼粼的泳池，最终与美式露天庭院的长椅、素雅质朴的铺地产生了奇妙的共振。

In the Santa Monica Mountains of Los Angeles, there stands a white building. The California sunshine casts shadows into the swimming pool, creating a serene dialogue with the round courtyard shape of the building.

这里不是博物馆，而是艺术家易凯和郑俭的家、他们的工作室，更是一个供人交流与分享的文化沙龙空间。这也是巴博罗在美国的一个软装项目。从建筑设计图纸定稿，到如今完成了最终的软装布局，历经了整整十年时间。十年间，这对夫妇作为第一代移民用近乎执拗的坚持，将一座价值百万美元的老宅推倒重建，只为回答一个命题——如何在异乡的土壤里，让故土的文化生根发芽？
This is not a museum, but the home of artists Yi Kai and Zheng Jian, their studio, and a cultural salon space for people to gather and share ideas. This is also the setting for a furniture project of PABLO NOW in the United States. It took a full ten years from the start of the design concept to the final completion of the project . Over the course of ten years, this couple, first~generation immigrants to the United States, used almost stubborn persistence to build a house just to answer one question - how can they let the culture of their homeland take root and sprout in the soil of an adopted and foreign home?

从一幅画到一座宅：艺术家的空间叙事

From a Painting to a House: The Artist's Spatial Narrative

家里的墙壁上悬挂着易凯的抽象油画，画中泼洒的钴蓝与赭石色块，最终化作沙发的皮革纹路、地毯的编织肌理。巴博罗团队在初访时，曾驻足画前良久。并与易凯一拍即合——“这些色彩不该只属于墙上，”巴博罗的主理人冯志亮回忆道，“我们当场决定，要让家具成为流动的颜料。”

There are abstract oil paintings by Yi Kai hanging on the walls of the house, and the colors in the paintings eventually transform into leather patterns on the sofa and woven textures on the carpet.

During their initial visit, the Pablo team paused in front of the painting for a long time. They also hit it off immediately with Yi Kai - "These colors shouldn't just belong to the walls," recalled Steven Feng, the manager of Pablo. "We decided on the spot to pursue the concept of making the furniture appear like flowing pigments.

PABLO NOW handed over the leather imported from Italy to the brand's long-term partner - artist Lu Biaobiao, who was responsible for designing furniture fabrics. The color scheme of each piece of furniture was reached after countless communications between the two artists, and each piece of furniture was a unique work.

The final pieces are assembled into a set of 'furniture emerging from painting' in Los Angeles. When sunlight shines through the courtyard and into the indoors, the colors of paintings and furniture blend as layers in the light and shadow, completing an artistic idea that took ten years to come to fruition.

A multicultural design team

他们的别墅可谓是一个多文化的融合器，建筑主体由年轻建筑师De Peter Yi负责设计，他7岁移民美国，注重中式风格与美式空间的结合；结构工程师则是位白人女士，Halle Doenitz巧妙解决墙体与泳池承重冲突；来自中国的易凯坚持从自己的画作中提取颜色，并通过家具设计传递个人艺术风格——作为一名艺术家，他坚信家与艺术应当有机融合。最终他遇上了秉持着“让艺术走进生活”理念的巴博罗……

Behind their villa is a multicultural team, designed by young architect De Peter Yi, who immigrated to the United States at the age of 7 and emphasizes the combination of Chinese style and American space;

The structural engineer is a white lady, Halle Doenitz cleverly solves the conflict between the loadbearing capacity of the wall and the swimming pool;

Yi Kai from China insists on extracting colors from his paintings and conveying his personal artistic style through furniture design - as an artist, he firmly believes that home and art should be organically integrated. In the end, he met PABLO NOW, who adhered to the concept of "Bringing art into life".

家庭沙龙：移民文化的共生实验

A multicultural design team

房屋的客厅不同于传统的起居空间，在这里没有一个主沙发，取而代之的则是精心布局、来自于巴博罗的扶手椅与单人沙发——他们计划将客厅作为一个家庭沙龙，供大家来分享与交流。遥想一下，当亚裔诗人、墨西哥陶艺家、本土爵士乐手聚集在沙龙里，讨论着“文化混血”的定义，而这样的场景正是这所屋子的主人所期待的“新森林生态”—— “移民的终极浪漫，不是复刻故土的盆景，而是让两种文化在碰撞中变异、生长。”这就是他们选择多文化背景设计团队的重要原因。

Yi kai's living room is different from traditional living spaces. There is no main sofa here, but instead carefully arranged armchairs and single sofas from PABLO NOW - he plans to turn the living room into a family salon for everyone to share and communicate.

Think about it, when Asian poets, Mexican ceramic artists, and local jazz musicians gather in a salon to discuss the definition of "cultural hybridity", this scene is exactly what Yi Kai expects from the "New Forest Ecology" - "the ultimate romance of immigrants is not about replicating the bonsai of their homeland, but about letting two cultures mutate and grow through collision," he said. This is also an important reason why he chose a multicultural design team.

定制巴博罗：艺术与生活的融合

Customized Pablo: Integration of Art and Life

当朋友来家中做客，也曾质提出疑问——“定制家具的成本足够买三套成品家具！”“美国家具品牌这么多？为何还要舍近求远从中国定制？”而他们始终相信，艺术家的家，需要让每个角落都生长出文化对话的可能。而巴博罗，就是他们的不二之选——立足于中国家具重镇顺德，又放眼全球，将中国的工匠精神与经典的Art Deco风格完美融合，这样既本土又国际化的设计，正是让这对夫妇一见倾心的原因。在卢麃麃的倾力协作下，巴博罗完成了全套家具定制，最终所呈现的效果令人非常满意。

A friend once questioned Yi Kai, saying, "The cost of customizing furniture is enough to buy three sets of finished furniture!" "Why do so many American furniture brands still needto customize from China?" However, They always believe that an artist's home needs to allow cultural dialogue to grow in every corner.

And Pablo is his perfect choice - based in Shunde, a furniture hub in China, and with a global perspective, he perfectly blends the Chinese craftsmanship spirit with the classic ArtDeco style. This design, which is both local and international, is exactly why this couple fell in love at first sight.With the collaboration of Lu Biaobiao, Pablo completed the complete set of furniture customization for their home, and the final result presented was very satisfactory to them.

艺术家：卢麃麃

卢麃麃，现任广州美术学院工业设计学院服装专业副教授，硕士生导师。多年来一直从事服装、首饰、家具等多个设计领域的设计和当代艺术创作，用作品来探讨艺术与设计相互融合渗透的新的可能性。作品曾受邀参加北京首届国际设计三年展、上海设计展等重要的国际设计展览和当代艺术展览。曾在苏州、广州、深圳、香港、法国举办个人作品展。

Lu Biaobiao is currently an Associate Professor in Fashion Design at the School of Industrial Design, Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, and a Master's Supervisor. For many years, sh has been engaged in design and contemporary art creation across multiple fields including fashion, jewelry, and furniture design, exploring new possibilities for the integration and interaction between art and design through her works. Her creations have been invited to prestigious international design and contemporary art exhibitions such as the Beijing First International Design Triennial and Shanghai Design Exhibition. She has held solo exhibitions in Suzhou, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hong Kong, and France.

富莱斯创始人：冯耀祥

冯耀祥，富莱斯创始人、巴博罗首席设计师。其设计从艺术、创意与人文的角度出发，赋予家居空间以艺术氛围。

冯耀祥设计的太师椅作为中国家具代表被顺德工业博物馆收藏；多件家具作品曾参与各项国际展览，其中与艺术家联名家具作品“火车”及“顺德龙”分别于中韩建交30周年、中法建交60周年展览在国内及欧洲展出。

Feng Yaoxiang, the Founder of Fulais and Chief Designer of PABLO NOW. His design integrates art, creativity, and humanistic values, thereby infusing living spaces with artistic atmosphere.
The Tai Shi Chair designed by Feng Yaoxiang is preserved as a representative piece of Chinese furniture in the Shunde Industrial Design Museum. Numerous furniture designs by Feng Yaoxiang also have been exhibited in international exhibitions, his collaborative furniture artworks, the "Train" and "Shunde Loong" were respectively displayed during the art exhibitions in China and Europe for 30th anniversary celebrations of China-Korea diplomatic relations and the 60th anniversary commemorations of China-France diplomatic relations.

建筑师：De Peter Yi

De Peter Yi是建筑师、教育学者及Rebuild Collective的创始人。曾参与参与阿肯色美术馆、阿姆斯特丹Q Residences等国际地标设计。创立Rebuild Collective后，主导“Wondering House”、“Land Bank House翻新”等住宅项目，现任辛辛那提大学建筑学院助理教授。他深耕建筑设计与城市更新领域，以创新住宅和适应性再利用项目闻名，曾获SOM基金会、Graham基金会等权威奖项，并出版专著《Building Subjects》，探讨中国住宅类型学。

De Peter Yi is an architect, educator, and founder of Rebuild Collective. Participated in the design of international landmarks such as the Arkansas Museum of Art and Q Residences in Amsterdam. After founding Rebuild Collective, he led residentialprojects such as Wondering House and Land Bank House renovation, and is currently an assistant professor at the School of Architecture at the University of Cincinnati. He is deeply involved in the fields of architectural design and urban renewal, renowned for innovative housing and adaptive reuse projects. He has won authoritative awards from the SOM Foundation, Graham Foundation, and has published a moograph titled "Building Subjects" to explore Chinese housingtypology.
