今年的米兰设计周已顺利落幕,在设计周期间,来自中国的巴博罗,以两件作品“顺德·龙”与“梧桐”立柜,惊艳亮相于意大利ADI设计博物馆。以“可持续栖居”为主题,在西方现代性的凝视下,编织出一场跨越时空的文化叙事。这不仅是一场展览,更是一次东方哲思与全球议题的深度对话。
Milan Design Week has successfully ended. During the design week, Pablo made a stunning appearance in the Italian ADI Design Museum with two works "Shunde · Loong" and "Plane tree". Under the gaze of Western modernity, weaving a cultural narrative spanning time and space with the theme of "Sustainable Habitat". This is not only an exhibition, but also a deep dialogue between Eastern philosophy and global issues.

When the mottled bark of plane trees in Shanghai turned into mirror fragments, and when the soul of Lingnan Loong Boat meandered in Milan's design hall, Pablo proved with design language that asustainable future requires mutual learning and coexistence of different civilizations.

顺德·龙:非遗文化的全球叙事 :灵感源自岭南非遗龙舟文化,七件家具组合成蜿蜒的龙舟造型,以红、绿、黑、白、黄五色呼应传统龙舟的视觉语言。装置不仅复刻了龙舟的形态,更以“团结协作、奋勇拼搏”的精神内核,隐喻中国企业在全球化浪潮中的破浪前行。
Shunde · Loong: A Global Narrative of Intangible Cultural Heritage:
Inspired by the Loong Boat culture of Ling South, seven pieces of furniture are combined into a winding Loong Boat shape, echoing the visual language of the traditional Loong Boat in red, green, black, white and yellow. The device not only reproduces the shape of Loong Boat, but also uses the spirit of "unity, cooperation and hard work" as a metaphor for Chinese enterprises to forge ahead in the tide of globalization
“龙舟是东方集体智慧的象征,而‘可持续栖居’的本质是构建人与自然的共生关系。”巴博罗总经理冯志亮在开幕式上如是说。策展人Massimiliano Mandarini则评价其“完美平衡了传统与创新。”
"The Loong Boat is a symbol of the collective wisdom of the East, and the essence of 'Sustainable Habitat' is to build a symbiotic relationship between man and nature." Steven Feng, the general manager of Pablo, said at the opening ceremony. Curator Massimiliano Mandarini praised it as "a perfect balance between tradition and innovation.”

梧桐:破碎与重生的哲学诗:设计师兼艺术家冯徕的跨界之作“梧桐”立柜,灵感始于上海街头一则印于梧桐树皮的小广告。随着树皮剥落,文字逐渐破碎消散,成为“生命无常”的隐喻。
Plane Tree: A Broken and Reborn Philosophical Poetry:Designer and artist Feng Lai's cross-border work "wutong" cabinet was inspired by a small advertisement printed on the bark ofwutong trees on the street of Shanghai. As the bark peels off, the text gradually breaks anddissipates, becoming a metaphor for the impermanence of life.
作品以激光切割的镜面碎片模拟树皮剥落瞬间,观众在残缺倒影中凝视“蜕变的自我”;层叠柜体表面的树皮裂痕,暗喻时间的非线性流动;镜面拼贴的英文提问“Will I shed away?”,则直击东西方对生命本质的共情。
“破碎的镜面既是终结,也是新生的起点。”冯徕说,“设计的意义在于撕碎常规,让每一次‘剥落’都成为对话的契机。”
The work simulates the moment of bark peeling off with laser cut mirror fragments, and theaudience gazes at the "transformed self" in the incomplete reflection; The bark cracks on the surface of stacked cabinets symbolize the nonlinear flow of time; The English question "Will I shed away?" in mirror collage directly strikes at the empathy of the East and the Westtowards the essence of life. The shattered mirror is both the end and the starting point of anew life, "Feng Lei said." The significance of design is to tear apart conventions and makeevery 'peeling' an opportunity for dialogue.”

On site feedback: International resonance of Chinese design
展览首日,中国设计师梁景华驻足于“顺德·龙”前,感慨万千:“这是中国品牌首次进入国际设计博物馆的殿堂,属于整个行业的荣誉。”梁景华坦言,许多设计师毕生梦想便是让作品成为“世界的名片”,而巴博罗证明了这种可能。策展人戴蓓更指出:“中国正从‘制造’迈向‘智造’,巴博罗将可持续理念贯穿产品全生命周期——从材料、工艺到文化叙事,每一步都在回应全球性议题。”
On the first day of the exhibition, Chinese designer Liang Jinghua stopped in front of "Shunde · Loong" and was filled with emotions: "This is the first time that a Chinese brand has entered the hall of the International Design Museum, and it is an honor for the entire industry." Liang Jinghua admitted that many designers' lifelong dream is to make their works become "business cards of the world," and Pablo proved this possibility. Curator Dai Bei also pointed out, "China is moving from 'manufacturing' to 'smart manufacturing', and Pablo will integrate the concept of sustainability throughout the entire product lifecycle - from materials, processes to cultural narratives, responding to global issues at every step.

Italian architect and curator Massimiliano Mandarini was deeply impressed by Pablo's design techniques: "How can architectural elements and classical aesthetics be presented in such a pioneering way!" He not only placed the work in the core area of the exhibition hall, butalso invited Pablo to hold a special exhibition at his private art museum and planned to bring students to China for creative exchange. Another collector made a request to customize a Pablo chair: "This chair will become the totem of the studio, reminding us of the original intention of design and culture.”

During the exhibition, an audience member shared a funny story: their pet dog excitedly circled around the small wooden house on display, as if infected by the emotions of the space. Still life can awaken the spiritual resonance between humans and animals, which is the true essence of sustainable living, "
the audience told Steven Feng. In response to previous doubts about "Chinese originality," Pablo took action: "We adhere to a long term approach and are willing to be a creative platform for designers and artists." As Feng said, "A true international brand requires global creators to jointly write its story.”

Future expectation: Ask the world with Eastern answers
米兰设计周的聚光灯下,巴博罗的参展被赋予双重意义:它既是中国设计力量的宣言,亦是对全球可持续议题的回应。据Grand View Research预测,2030年全球环保家具市场规模将突破800亿美元,而中国在此领域的贡献已占全球六分之一。巴博罗的实践证明,可持续不仅是技术路径,更是一种文化态度——从岭南龙舟的协作精神,到上海梧桐的哲学之问,东方智慧正在为世界提供新的解题思路。
Under the spotlight of Milan Design Week, Pablo's participation is endowed with a dual significance: it is both a declaration of China's design power and a response to global sustainability issues. According to Grand View Research, the global market for eco-friendly furniture is expected to exceed $80 billion by 2030, with China's contribution in this field accounting for one sixth of the global total. Pablo's practice has proved that sustainability is not only a technological path, but also a cultural attitude - from the cooperation spirit of Lingnan Loong Boat to the philosophical question of plane tree in Shanghai, Oriental wisdom is providing new solutions for the world.

From Paris to Milan, from OEM manufacturing to OBM brand going global, Pablo's journey reflects the transformation of Chinese design. At the end of the exhibition, Feng Lai's question was still echoed under the dome of the ADI Museum: "Is the bark falling off an end or a new life?" The answer might be hidden in the Loong Boat sailing to a broader ocean, and hidden in the texture of plane tree that have been growing tenaciously for hundreds of years. When Eastern philosophy and Western modernity quietly resonate in design, Pablo is demonstrating with humility and confidence that a sustainable future requires the courage to peel off every piece, and more importantly, the mutual illumination between civilizations.
